Our School Vision
Inspired Learners, collaboratively creating sustainable futures
Our vision was developed by our establishment Board of Trustees and senior leadership team and was based on the feedback we received from community consultation at the time.
Each year we revisit our vision with our learners to explore elements of the model and ensure it aligns with our strategic direction.
This vision guides all learning and weaves through the engagements, ethos and being of our school.

My successes are not mine alone, they are ours - the greatest successes we will have are from working together.
Our School Values
We have developed our school values together as a community. We began this process in 2022 and have launched them in 2023, our new school values will take us into the future with something that represents us as the Hingaia Peninsula community and is interconnected with our vision. We gathered the voice of our students, staff, parents and whanau to identify the 3 values we all believe to be the values we all want our students to grow and therefore live by. Our values are important at HPS and will be integrated into every aspect of the school day.

Our Motto:
Tikaranga ~ Weaving the right path
Our motto was gifted to us by local iwi before our school opened in 2012. At HPS we live by our school motto - Tikaranga - weaving the right path. Our school rule is to ‘do the right thing’

This was created in 2011, by Lenny Te Reo after conversations with local kaumātua.
The design details:
Awhi - guiding and supporting relationships of our community form the outer circle which envelopes our learning
Ako - weaving together our personal baskets of knowledge
the three strands of our kete are:
Creative (auaha)
Collaborative (ngātahi)
Agile learning (ngāwari)
Mana - the central koru shape represents our personal integrity (mana) including our values, principles and beliefs.
